On Wednesday night, Baja California Civil Protection issued an alert regarding the road situation in the region, due to the fact that recent weather conditions are causing the road in La Rumorosa to crystallize.
This is especially occurring during the afternoon and evening. Due to the above traffic has been very slow and they have reported that during the night there were still people at the toll booths; this situation is more noticeable in the stretch from El Hongo to La Rumorosa.
"We ask the population in a very special way and it is the request we make from the state government... we ask at this time to avoid using the highway to prevent vehicles from continuing to accumulate in this area with the probability of being stranded", shared the director of Civil Protection.
He added that it will be important for people who have scheduled non-urgent trips that need to pass through this highway to reschedule in order to avoid inconveniences that could put their health and the health of others at risk.
It is recalled that, according to weather forecasts for our region, the passage of a low pressure system will bring a third storm from Thursday afternoon until Friday night; this will cause the temperature to drop significantly.
Due to the above, Civil Protection issued the following recommendations:
-Do not throw garbage in riverbeds, streams or on public roads.
-Take precautions against sudden temperature changes.
-Stay away from tall objects that may be blown by the winds.
-Follow the recommendations issued by the official pages of Civil Protection.
