Through its official media, the U.S. Consulate General in Tijuana notified about its continuous process of renewing tourist visas, although in a limited way.
According to the Consulate, this procedure can only be carried out by applicants whose previous visa has expired in a period of no more than 12 months. Once that is fulfilled, applicants may renew without a consular interview.
If you want to renew your visa and you comply with the above, you must do the following:
- Make your appointment at the following link https://ais.usvisa-info.com/es-mx/niv
- Go to the Applicant Assistance Center (CAS)
- Wear a face mask at the CAS facilities
- Respect the safe distance in the enclosure when taking pictures and footprints
In the case of those interested in applying for "First Time" interviews in all other visa categories (including tourist/business), the Consulate held that they will continue to be suspended until further notice.
It is worth noting that all of the above does not apply to emergency visas and student visas.
Likewise, we remind that restrictions on border crossings between Mexico and the United States were extended until September 21, 2020, so only trips considered essential may be made, with tourism or recreational activities being limited.
