This "Palace in the Sky" is valued at $430 million U.S. dollars and will have its inaugural flight on January 20th, when the president attends the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2016 in Davos, Switzerland.
The debt racked up by the aircraft will be paid with public funds until 2027. An aircraft that will go down in the books as being the most expensive plane of its kind, even more expensive than Air Force One.
The plane caused controversy in a country where more than half of its population lives in poverty. Peña Nieto's defense? It was ordered by former president Felipe Calderón.
