Maybe it has something to do with being on the West Coast, but for some reason Tijuana loves its Asian food.
Another thing that Tijuana loves Food trucks!
Which didn't surprise us when our readers voted for WokTrok, an Asian fusion food truck located in Tijuana's La Cacho neighborhood as the best one in Baja California.

More and more food trucks pop out in Baja California. A start-up business that many young entrepreneurs look for when bringing new culinary offers to the city in an affordable way. WokTrok is the perfect example of this, by serving its trademark Asian fusion noodles, something quite uncommon for the city of Tijuana.
Yes, the food is prepared and served by young people and yes, the prices are quite affordable, regardless of the food's great quality standards.
WokTrok's specialty is its noodles, served with vegetables and the protein of your choice, which can be either chicken, beef and sometimes even shrimp. You can add the salsa of your choice, which is where we notice that Asian influence: Kung Pao, Spicy, Tamarind and Peanuts. Another option are their buns, which consists of steamed rice flour bread filled with traditional Chinese pork or Portobello mushrooms.

Something worth noting is that they've managed to gather a strong following, regardless of the fact that their located behind a Chinese restaurant, in some sort of alley. Even though they aren't in one of the city's famous gastroparks, they always seem to have a noteworthy amount of diners. It could be because they're very active on social media and always reply promptly. Which is a huge telltale that it's managed by millennials, which is an important part of their brand management.
Thanks to their distinct location, prices and constant effort to stay relevant in a city overwhelmed with food trucks that range from really bad to delicious, there's no doubt on why our readers chose WokTrok as Best Food Truck in our Best of Baja 2015 competition. We can't wait to see what these young entrepreneurs have in store for us this 2016.
Located on General Ferreira street, inside Bar Mandarin Plaza's parking lot, nearby Agua Caliente Boulevard.
Even though this is their permanent home 80% of the time, they do sometimes move, so be sure to check out their Facebook page before heading out, also they don't open on Mondays.
