TIJUANA.- Around 1951, a movie made it to the so called Golden Era of Mexican cinema. Dancer and actress, Yolanda Yvonne Montez, also known as "Tongolele" shared credits with Mexican comedian, German Valdes "Tin Tan" for the movie "Matenme Por Que Me Muero" (Kill Me Because I'm Dying)
Sixty four years later, Tongolele will lead an homage paid to his old friend and co-star this upcoming Saturday, September 19th at CECUT's Sala Carlos Monsivais during a round table called "Tin Tan Ton golele" in presence of film study, Juan Jose Camacho and conference coordinator, Carlos Sarabia.
This will be a celebration due to Tin Tan's 100th anniversary, who was born on September 19th, 1915. For those interested in attending and have a chat with the former vedette, all you have to do is be there before 7 pm just to make sure you get a seat. This event is free of cost.
