Up to 22 families have lost their homes due to the impending collapse at Fraccionamiento Paseos del Vergel, located behind Plaza Sendero in Tijuana’s eastern zone.

According to preliminary reports from the Municipal Agency of Civil Protection, 22 houses were labeled red, i.e., they are unhabitable.

Lacking more information about the cause, in these pictures one can see the land slope at the mountain where this residential area is built on.

Civil Protection has reported that since last Thursday, May 18, work has begun in order to evacuate people from the neighborhood.

This occurs one and a half months after the collapse of two residential buildings at Fraccionamiento La Sierra, on the free highway to Playas de Rosarito.
