ENSENADA.- In order to restate the strengthening of the agricultural sector of Baja California, Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda was present in the swearing-in of the new Executive Committee of the Agricultural Council of Baja California that took place in the city of Ensenada.
In her message, the Governor highlighted the decisive importance that agriculture has in the life of every society, especially Baja California’s since it provides the food that a growing population consumes.
Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, as the first female Governor of Baja California, expressed her pleasure at collaborating with agricultural producers. She thanked them for their support and collaboration with state authorities in order to achieve common goals. She stated that by joining forces, both the state government and the Agricultural Council, there won’t be an obstacle that stops society, agricultural producers, and authorities from achieving their objectives, which can only be done by working together.
The Governor congratulated the incoming president of the Council, Walberto Solorio Meza, and recognized especially outgoing president, Salvador García Valdez, who she highlighted not only in his disposition, but the results achieved during his term.
“More than 20 years it has been since the Council became a fundamental link between the different figures of the industry, in order to assist in the agricultural vocation of Baja California, and make each producer’s work easier and more efficient”, the Governor stated.
Subsequently, Solorio Meza was swore in along with Conrado González and Mathilde River, who will be the secretary and treasurer respectively in the Executive Committee 2022-2024. The three will face the challenge of strengthening producers so that the countryside continues to be a source of wealth and wellness in Baja California.
Municipal Ensenada President, Armando Ayala Robles; Senator Nancy Sánchez Arredondo; Senior Official of Baja California, Rocío López Gorosave; Secretary of the Countryside and Food Security, Juan Meléndez Espinoza; and Industrial Adviser of Mexican Tomato, Dolores Aguirre were all present at the ceremony.
