Tijuana city councilors want a thorough probe into the assassinations of journalists

Ten of Tijuana's 15 councilors signed a letter requesting that the facts be clarified

Violence, violence, and killings have become a way of life in Tijuana; in just one week, two journalists were slain, and the present administration of Tijuana has taken little acts that residents can see.

As a result of the foregoing, ten councilors from this municipality have raised their voices and demanded an explanation for the journalist killings. These ten Cabildo members have called on the government to curb crime, and they have encouraged the other five members of the council to join them.

The ten councilors demanded that the State Attorney General's Office, as well as the State and Municipal Security Secretariats, conduct a thorough inquiry and clarify the facts in a paper. They also requested that they be brought up to date on the investigations.

The members of the Cabildo de Tijuana today demand that the competent authorities conduct a thorough, prompt, and thorough investigation into the recent attacks on journalists. We demand that the facts be made public and that those who are responsible be held accountable.

The events of last week, according to councilman Juan Carlos Hank, force them, as officials, to take immediate steps to rebuild the social fabric and improve the performance of institutions in favor of citizens: "As public servants, we cannot fail the citizenship that demands the basic right to live safely," he assured.
