Following the Christmas and New Year celebrations, coronavirus infections have increased dramatically in Baja California, with more than 6,000 active cases of the fatal virus in the state, with the municipality of Tijuana leading the way.
According to data provided by the Ministry of Health in Baja California, there are a total of 6,090 active cases, with 2,852 from Tijuana, 1,484 from Mexicali, and 974 from Ensenada, the three municipalities that give force to the pandemic and where there is a greater risk of contagion, so citizens are urged not to leave home unless absolutely necessary.
In just 24 hours, 461 new positive cases were confirmed, along with 7 new deaths due to the virus, bringing the total number of positive cases to 37,614 from the beginning of the pandemic until the cut-off date of Monday, January 10 to 37,614 positive cases, of which 11,061 have succumbed to the virus.
They also revealed that the age group with the most active cases is 20 to 39 years old, with 3,543 instances, followed by 40 to 59 years old, with 1,913, despite the fact that older persons are still the most vulnerable to succumbing to the virus in the event of transmission.

All patients experiencing symptoms such a runny nose, cough, headache, sore throat, or body soreness should have a Covid-19 test, according to the government.
