In Baja California, vaccinations from the United States are used to immunize minors aged 5 to 11

Because of its contacts with cross-border agencies, this vaccine will be achievable

Following the declaration of Hugo López Gatell, the Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, that young individuals between 11 to 14 years old in Mexico were not vaccinated, the Secretary of Health in Baja California, led by Dr. J. Adrian Medina Amarillas, issued a statement. He stated that the state intends to vaccinate this age group, including children aged 5 to 11.

According to the agency's chairman, the secretariat will require that this age group be vaccinated, and this will be feasible owing to cross-border vaccination operations with US authorities, though he clarified that this has not yet been done. It does not specify when they will begin, although it will likely be before January 17, 2022.

We will not cease pressing that children under the age of 14 be vaccinated; they also know that we have an offer from the CBP and the California Cross-Border Commission, who will help us to begin with the population of 5 to 11 years, as mentioned.

It should be noted that the federal booster vaccine is only available to adults over the age of 60, but thanks to the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar, the booster vaccine has now been made available to health care workers, teachers, police officers, and firefighters, the state being the only one to do so.

Long lineups were observed following the second day of teenage immunization in Tijuana.
