As reported in this website, after passing Baja California from red to orange on the COVID-10 epidemiological traffic light chart, not only did the capacity increase to 50% in the various activities already reopened, but others were integrated into the new normality or extended their schedules.

Such is the case of Playas de Rosarito, a municipality that announced last September 29th that its new schedule is from 6:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the afternoon, but with certain measures, as well as not leaving trash.

However, the government of this municipality informed through its official media that only on the weekend of October 2-4, 12 tons of garbage were collected, which were obtained from a cleanup on the beaches of: Centro, El Babe, Campo Alfonso and Alisitos, among others.

Unfortunately, a similar event occurred on the beaches of Ensenada, a town that even announced its reopening that same Friday, October 2, where authorities reported a collection of 4.5 tons of garbage this past weekend, with 2.5 corresponding to Playa Hermosa, Conalep and Pacifica; while the remaining two to La Misión.

In response, the mayor of this port not only condemned the behavior of the population that took advantage of the orange light to go to the beaches and in an act of irresponsibility, left their trash at different points in the sandy area and common areas, but also instructed the owners of Zofemat, Public Safety, Urban Administration, Ecology and Environment, to sanction those who throw trash on the beaches following the regulations.
