Today during a press conference held by the Department of Health, this was the technical report: 692 thousand 319 negative cases, 83 thousand 820 suspicious cases, 616 thousand 894 confirmed cases and 66 thousand 329 confirmed deaths.

The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) presents the achievements that have been reached within the institute:

Doctors and nurses who are in hospitals, and who directly attend patients in Mexico have a 13% infection rate, figures updated to September 2nd.

In this sense, the information on the provision of Personal Protection Equipment for all IMSS personnel (supplies and material in the process of purchase) is kept up to date.

Among the supplies are: respirators (N95/KN95/N99), triple-layer mouth guards, masks, goggles, gloves, gowns and overalls.

After presenting data and information from health personnel in Mexico, the conference took another direction.

Nutrition is back on the agenda

Food continues to be part of the recommendations as part of the diet in Mexico for better health.

Different types of seeds, corn and vegetables were recommended since it is currently known that a great part of the obesity problem in Mexico is due to products with high sugar content. The Department of Health reports that from the period of 1986 to 1998, there was a great consumption of sugary drinks. This is due to the type of diet that has been implemented throughout the six years.

But what actions are proposed?

Mainly actions in favor of a culturally appropriate diet.

- The State: guarantor of rights and leader of development, without conflict of interest. Food sovereignty. End of the neoliberal agro-food model.

- New fair agri-food and nutritional system.

- Rescue the countryside with self-sufficiency food.

- Revaluation of the agri-food systems, farm workers and indigenous people.
