This Wednesday morning, news related to the border restrictions circulated through social media, as some assured that the Mexican Consul in San Diego, Carlos Gonzalez Gutierrez, said that these could end until December 2020.

In an exclusive interview for San Diego Red, Consul Carlos Gonzalez Gutierrez, revealed that it is false that the restrictions would continue until December and that the meeting was held behind closed doors and without any press, since other issues were discussed. The origin of the rumor is unknown.

Carlos Gonzalez Gutierrez commented that the restrictions for non-essential crossing by land across the border will be in force until September 21, as it has been since March 21, if changes occur in the date this will be notified at least two days in advance, it is important to emphasize that this decision taken is to prevent the spread of the virus and avoid infection by promoting social distancing, recalling that this is an agreement between the governments of Mexico and the United States.
