He drowned at the beach in Tijuana

TIJUANA – The rescued body of a 13 year old boy found last week in San Diego near the dividing wall with Mexico is that of Efrain Alcaraz Bautista, a 13 year old Tijuana native who went missing on July 16 in the beaches of Tijuana informed the Firefighting department of the Secretary of Municipal Public Safety (SSPM).

Still missing is Bautista’s friend Alejandro Reyes Collazo, 16 who went missing at the same time.

The director of the firefighters, Carlos Martinez Duarte explained that since the beginning of this tragic incident Efrain’s parents have received the full support of the department by orders of Mayor Carlos Bustamante himself.

Since the day Efrain and Alejandro went missing the firefighters launched and intense search and rescue mission and contacted the maritime authorities in the United States on the chance that the ocean waters pushed the bodies on the United States’ side.

Last Friday the international unit of the firefighters were notified of the corpus’ finding and started the process to bring the body back to Mexico.

Martinez Duarte pleaded to the Tijuana community that will be enjoying the beaches to use precaution and always follow the lifeguard’s instructions to avoid the mourning the two Tijuana families are now going through.
