TIJUANA.- This Friday, September 9th, the public is invited to a cocktail party where a project called Movers & Shapers will be launched. There will be music and hour d' oeuvres for the public to enjoy while they navigate the demo store and online offerings of local producers.
Movers & Shapers is a project that aims to support the creative industry in the region, specifically geared toward promoting culture, art production and design online. The project centers around an online platform with the goal of commercializing local art on an international scale. The project aims to bridge the gap between the local producer and international market.
[p]More than just an online store, the website will also have a video blog that documents the creative process and will promote events supporting the creative community and thus fostering dialogue and fair trade practices in the local art market. Part of the mission of the project is to empower emerging artists and support them by creating a support network of unique creators, support institutions in the realm of entrepreneurship in order to increase exposure and growth in the industry via new strategies in promotion and technology.
