Este año se llevará a cabo el próximo 26 de febrero en el 02 Academy Brixton de Londres, y contará con el patrocinio de la ciudad de Austin, Texas "la capital mundial de la música en vivo". Encabezando la lista de nominados, se encuentra Arctic Monkeys con un total de 8 menciones, donde destacan "Mejor álbum", "Mejor banda en vivo" y "Mejor banda británica".
Algunas de las categorías más llamativas son "Héroe del año" y su contraparte "Villano del año", donde cabe destacar que el comediante Rusell Brand ha sido considerado para obtener el premio de ambas, aunque quizá, la más controvertida será la que corresponde a "Peor banda" donde podemos encontrar a 30 seconds to Mars, The 1975, Imagine Dragons, Muse, One Directions y The Wanted.
"Los anteriores 12 meses de música han tenido de todo. Regreso de leyendas, sencillos que definen eras, más álbumes con potencial de ser clásicos modernos que en cualquier otro año reciente y toneladas de momentos en vivo para celebrar" declaró Mike Williams, editor de NME sobre las expectativas para la ceremonia de este año.
