US Consul General in Tijuana, Christopher Teal, attended the Ensenada Carnival last weekend. During his visit, he met with Mayor Claudia Agatón of Ensenada and highlighted the importance of strengthening local ties and working together.
The US official emphasized the importance of continuing to prioritize the safety of locals and American tourists who enjoy the beautiful destinations and events that Baja California has to offer.
“Thank you, Ensenada, for making this carnival an example of the strong bonds between our nations,” shared the US Consulate General in Tijuana on a social media post.
Through these efforts, the CaliBaja region aims to position itself as an unmissable tourist attraction, with greater security and prosperity for its visitors.

A Grand Celebration! Thousands Enjoy Gran Carnaval de Ensenada 2025
Gran Carnaval de Ensenada 2025 has brought together more than 130,000 people to enjoy its concerts and several festival activities. Civil Protection estimates indicate significant attendance at the headline concerts by Matute, Banda El Recodo, and Los Ángeles Azules.
It should be noted that the highest recorded attendance was on Friday, February 28, when the Ensenada Carnival broke records with over 67,000 attendees.
“Today, we made history together! It was an honor to welcome so many families and visitors who shared the joy and magic of this event. This carnival belongs to all of us, and together we continue to make Ensenada a place full of life, culture, and excitement,” highlighted the mayor on a message shared on social media.
The celebration was led by the coronation of the Carnival Queen, performed by Mayor Claudia Agatón of Ensenada and the event featured a stellar performance by Banda El Recodo.
