The recent blockade of access points to Tijuana International Airport by residents of the Maclovio Rojas community has caused travelers several difficulties.
While pedestrian access has been a primary concern, so has vehicle movement in the airport’s parking facilities.
Tijuana Airport Issues Statement Regarding Its Parking
On its official Facebook page, Tijuana Airport provided an update on its services, explaining the access and exit situation for its parking areas.
The airport stated that due to the blockade on both sides of Carretera Aeropuerto, vehicle passage remains closed, affecting the parking lot as follows:
- Entry: The blockade continues to prohibit vehicle access, making it impossible to enter.
- Exit: Those who wish to retrieve their vehicles may do so; however, the blocked roads make passage difficult. Removing a vehicle from the premises is done at each individual’s own risk.
Due to this, Tijuana Airport authorities recommend that travelers consider alternative transport options and plan their arrival in advance to avoid delays and potential missed flights.
They also issued the following recommendations regarding transportation in the area:
- Trust only information provided by airport staff identified with IDs and uniforms.
- Avoid unauthorized taxis or transportation services.
- Plan ahead and remain patient.
“We continue working internally to minimize the inconvenience caused by this external situation,” they stated.

It is worth noting that the road blockade has been in place since Monday, March 10, when residents of Maclovio Rojas requested a meeting with President Claudia Sheinbaum to seek a resolution regarding their homes’ property deeds.
