The municipal government led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana is carrying out inspection operations across the city to ensure the hygiene and quality of seafood products and verify the necessary permits for street sales.

José Antonio Olivas Heredia, Director of Inspection and Verification, reported that since last Wednesday, surveillance efforts have been reinforced at stalls in street markets and street vending locations across all nine municipal delegations.

“The goal is to prevent health risks. That’s why we focus on monitoring the quality of products being sold, ensuring vendors handle seafood properly, and avoiding illnesses caused by consuming spoiled food,” the official said.

Moreover, authorities are ensuring vendors have the proper permits for selling seafood and preventing oversaturation of such stalls in regulated zones, Olivas Heredia emphasized.
With these measures, the 25th City Hall of Tijuana aims to enforce regulations on seafood sales and guarantee that these products meet optimal conditions for human consumption.
