With over seven decades of history, the Ocean Beach Kite Festival, one of Southern California’s most iconic family events, returns to celebrate its 76th edition. On Saturday, May 17, San Diego’s skies will burst with color and movement at this beloved festival dedicated to the art of kite flying, which will take place at Robb Athletic Field in the Point Loma Peninsula neighborhood.

Recognized as the oldest running children’s kite festival in the United States, this free event welcomes people of all ages. The only requirement is a love for building, decorating, flying, or simply watching kites in action. Every year, families flock to enjoy a day of outdoor activities, games, and community bonding.
