Puppies Saved from Illegal Sale at Tijuana-San Ysidro Port of Entry

Tijuana authorities have prioritized animal care and respect, warning the public that the illegal sale of species is punishable by law.

The 25th City Hall led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana successfully rescued two dogs that were being sold on the street through the Directorate of Inspection and Verification, as part of ongoing efforts to protect animal well-being.

The operation was carried out by this agency’s staff near the San Ysidro International Port of Entry, where a male individual was found offering the puppies for sale, reported José Antonio Olivas Heredia, department head.

It should be noted that the Directorate of Inspection and Verification carries out regular operations in areas identified as hotspots for illegal animal sales. Upon encountering this situation, authorities took immediate action to protect both dogs and proceeded to file an administrative report.

The 25th City Hall of Tijuana promotes measures aimed at ensuring respect, care, and protection for animals, guaranteeing their well-being and safety.
