SAN DIEGO.- Just as promised, starting this weekend, the toll fees of the State Route 125, located to the east of San Diego will go down.
Through a press release, the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), who just recently acquired the road, announced the reduction in charges with the goal of encouraging people to use the highway that stretches from State Route 54 to Otays 905.
SR-125, also known as South Bay Expressway, was built with the intention of reducing the traffic on the main highways south of the County by offering an alternate route to the east side residents.
The new prices will be implemented starting from this Saturday; fess will now be between 50 cents and $2.75 for FasTrack users and from $2 to $3.50 for those paying in cash or with a credit card.
Amongst SANDAGs plans are raising the usage of SR-125 by 15% and getting a 10% increment of FasTrak members, thus going from 27,000 users to 30,000 users on their first year.
