The municipal government led by Mayor Rocío Adame of Playas de Rosarito signed an agreement with the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation and the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (CANIRAC) to boost and develop the local restaurant industry.
“It is of vital importance for Mayor Rocío Adame to support small and medium-sized restaurant businesses, as they are the main driving force of our local economy,” Irán Leonardo Verdugo Contreras, Managing Director of the Tourism and Convention Committee of Rosarito (COTUCO), said.
This strategic alliance aims to boost the local economy, create jobs, and solidify Playas de Rosarito as a world-class gastronomic destination. Thanks to this agreement, the region’s restaurants will have access to an assortment of benefits, including training, financing, and technical assistance.

Deputy Secretary of Economic Promotion of Baja California Michel Guerrero Jaimes highlighted that the Playas de Rosarito restaurant industry is extremely important as it consists of over 6,000 micro-, small-, and medium-sized companies, which stand for the 15.75% of the total.
“Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda has boosted several strategies to strengthen this industry’s PyMES (Small and Medium-Sized Companies), such as providing them with practical tools, specialized training, and access to financing,” Guerrero Jaimes stated.
The President of the Playas de Rosarito CANIRAC Delegation, Octavio Machado Sánchez, excitedly spoke about this agreement, emphasizing that “its main goal is to boost the food economy and provide restaurant owners with the necessary tools to grow and prosper.”

He invited interested restaurants to get more information regarding available aid and financing to go to Citizen Assistance spots in the state’s municipalities or visit the website www.bajacalifornia.gob.mx/sei/ReactivaBC.
This event was attended by Councilor Alan Bautista Plascencia, President of the Tourism and Economic Development Commission; Alfonso Chávez Pérez, Director of Financing of the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation; and Iván Nolasco, State CANIRAC President.
Playas de Rosarito is a world-renowned tourist destination due to its beautiful beaches, delicious gastronomy, and cozy environments. Thanks to this new alliance, the municipality reaffirms its commitment to economic and tourism development.
