The municipal government led by Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz of Playas de Rosarito continues restoration efforts at Bulevar Artesanal Popotla, making progress on the project to revitalize the tourist zone. These improvements span from KM 28+520 to 32+400.
The Director of the Rosarito Urban Development Promoter (PRODEUR), Orlando Fabián Bernal Hinojosa, met with residents of the Cuenca Díaz neighborhood to update them on the project’s progress.
He explained that work in this first phase includes cleaning the road, stripping old paint, marking guide lines, and applying a primer before laying thermoplastic paint on Bulevar Popotla intersections, covering both the northern and southern areas.
“As our mayor has stated, this project is being carried out hand in hand with the boulevard’s residents, and we will continue to do so. In this first phase, we’re focusing on paint and some adjustments, and together with you, we will develop the second phase, which will be implemented after Tianguis Turístico,” the director said.

Bernal Hinojosa added that these efforts will lead to significant urban improvements, making the maintenance of Bulevar Popotla and Benito Juárez essential to welcoming the thousands of visitors expected for Tianguis Turístico 2025.
Residents at this meeting showed great interest in closely tracking the project’s progress and raised several concerns, which the municipal authorities pledged to address, reaffirming their commitment to carrying out the project in coordination and close collaboration with local families and businesses.
At the meeting, staff from the Municipal Development Planning Committee (COPLADEM) and the Secretariat of Social Well-Being work team swore in the new Neighborhood Committee.
