In response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks, the Mayor Rocio Adame of Playas de Rosarito emphasized the importance of national unity and rejected any attempts at misinformation that discredit Mexico’s efforts in security and justice.
“We fully support President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo in defending Mexico’s sovereignty and dignity. Our country is a united and strong nation that has shown through actions its commitment to security and justice. We will not allow interference or misinformation that seeks to undermine the efforts and determination of our nation,” stated Rocío Adame, Mayor of Rosarito, on social media.
Sheinbaum Responds to Trump
The mayor’s statements align with Claudia Sheinbaum’s position, who cited former President Benito Juárez to reiterate Mexico’s stance in response to Trump’s accusations of alleged ties to organized crime.
Additionally, the Mexican president highlighted the need for a joint strategy against fentanyl trafficking, questioning the lack of arrests in the United States and the absence of money laundering investigations.
Sheinbaum also announced that during Monday’s morning press conference on February 3, she will reveal the first measures of “Plan B,” designed to address the 25% tariff increase imposed by the U.S. government.
