During the administration led by Mayor Rocío Adame, Playas de Rosarito has been set on the path to tourism excellence due to the fact that the municipality is currently working to obtain the National Tourism Quality Certification, through the Tourism and Conventions Committee (COTUCO).
Paul Corona Rodríguez, president of COTUCO Rosarito, stated that this is a comprehensive recognition that certifies the quality and sustainability of the country’s tourist destinations.
“Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz of Rosarito has asked us to meet and fulfill all the requirements to achieve this very important certification, which will be highly beneficial for the Fifth Municipality,” said Corona Rodríguez.

He added that the municipal agency is currently working together with the Secretariat of Economic Development and Tourism, as well as Civil Protection and Firefighters, to comply with the guidelines established by the Secretariat of Federal Tourism’s evaluation body.
He also explained that the National Tourism Quality Certification evaluates service providers and tourist destinations under a legal and regulatory framework. Therefore, it promotes quality, social responsibility, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
The head of COTUCO Rosarito, Paul Corona Rodríguez, underscored that obtaining this certification will strengthen the competitiveness of Playas de Rosarito as a tourist destination. It will also contribute to regional and sustainable economic development, establishing the city as a benchmark for quality nationwide and a leading tourist destination.
