The 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito carried out a series of inspection tours through the Directorate of Civil Protection and Firefighters (DPCB) to verify the progress made in the cleaning of riverbeds and storm drains.

“Mayor Rocío Adame of Rosarito’s priority is to ensure the safety of families living in canyons during the upcoming showers and prevent anything that could put them at risk. That is why we are visiting several different neighborhoods we have identified as risk zones,” stated the head of DPCB, Joaquín Mercado de Santiago.

He reiterated that his agency is continuously conducting inspections in several areas to prevent any potential rain damage and safeguard the safety of all citizens.

The official added that Directorate of Urban Services staff have been working for several months on cleaning storm drains and canyons, and collecting heavy debris found in riverbanks.

The Municipal Government urges citizens not to dump garbage in storm drains and to keep an eye on announcements issued by authorities. In case of emergency, contact 9-1-1.
