Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali Supports Vulnerable Families with Social Assistance Program

$395,000 pesos have been allocated for economic aid, construction material, and support for entrepreneurs.

Through the “Uniendo Esfuerzos por tu Bienestar” (Joining Forces for Your Well-Being) program, Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali delivered more than 100 social aid packages to vulnerable Mexicali native families to improve their quality of life.

“Fourth Transformation governments aim to fight social inequality, which is why we are delivering aid so that new generations can live in a better country,” the mayor of Mexicali said.

Plus, she said that on this occasion around $395,000 pesos were delivered through Municipal Social Well-Being, Citizen Assistance, and Economic Promotion and Development. 50 families benefited from economic aid, 28 received construction material to improve their homes, 9 were given aid to enhance their small businesses, and 29 neighborhood committees received gardening kits.

María de los Ángeles Cortez, one of the people benefited by the construction material program and whose house burned down, thanked the aid received. “Thank you, President Norma Bustamante, for this aid that will help us to rebuild our home.”

This event was attended by Councilor Beatriz García and the heads of BISOM, José Ramón López; FOMYDE, Ysmael Rodríguez; and Citizen Assistance, Gabriela Valdez.
