Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali officially delivered 260 patrol vehicles to the Municipal Public Security Directorate (DSPM) as part of an effort to build a safer city for all.
“Today, we take a firm step toward establishing a stronger and better-equipped police force with the delivery of these new vehicles. This means our municipal police now has seven times more patrol units than when we took office four years ago,” the mayor of Mexicali said.

With this, she reaffirmed her commitment to continue working to ensure that municipal police officers have better working conditions, adequate equipment, and training.
“We want people to know that their police force is here to serve and protect, and that every patrol car on the streets represents a real commitment to the peace and well-being of our families,” Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali said.

Additionally, DSPM Director Luis Felipe Chan explained that the new patrol vehicles include 160 double-cabin pickups, 55 SUV Explorers, and 45 Nissan Versas. This will allow the municipal police to have vehicles suited for each type of operation, ensuring more effective coverage both in the city and in Valle de Mexicali.
