Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali led the closing ceremony of the Comprehensive Educational and Social “Pies en Movimiento” Program, which benefited over 3,000 children, young people, and parents and reinforced the government’s commitment to transforming communities through values, culture, sports, and environmental responsibility projects.
The closing ceremony took place at #14 “Centenario Lomas” Secondary School where the municipal president highlighted the importance of addressing social issues through education.
“Once again, we have shown that by joining efforts, we can generate significant changes by promoting the development of responsible, aware, and committed individuals and families through several talks and workshops held over 10 days,” she stated.

She also said that several municipal government departments participated in “Pies en Movimiento,” including the D.A.R.E. Board, the Youth Squad, Firefighters, the Human Rights Coordination, the Environmental Protection Directorate, the Youth Institute (IMJUM), the Sports Institute (IMDECUF), the Women Institute (IMMM), and the Arts and Culture Institute (IMACUM).
The program benefited the student community and parents from the following educational institutions: Centenario Las Lomas Kindergarten, “Centenario Las Lomas” Elementary School, #14 “Centenario Lomas” General Secondary School, and Cecyte Centenario High School.
Diego Díaz, speaking on behalf of the benefited community, thanked Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali and her administration for the program’s positive impact, stating: “Your initiative provides us with the tools to grow and become better citizens.”
