Mayor Norma Bustamante Martínez of Mexicali inaugurated the recently renovated baseball field at Fraccionamiento Infonavit Cucapach, a project that had an investment of over $6.4 million pesos and was promoted by residents through the Participatory Budget.
“This project is an example of how we, government and citizens working together, can transform our environment and build a better future for our children and youth,” the Mayor of Mexicali said. “Sports are a powerful tool to prevent risky behaviors,” she added.

The comprehensive renovations at this field included the installation of high-quality synthetic grass, new lighting and improvements of the electrical circuit, construction of a perimeter fence, and the implementation of a special drainage rain system.
Alberto Ibarra, Director of Public Projects, highlighted that these improvements have ensures a first-rate sports area for the more than 4,000 residents of this area who will benefit from this project.

Vogar Flores, representative of little baseball leagues, thanked the mayor and the community for making this project a reality: “This field is a dream come true for everyone who loves baseball. Now we have an adequate and safe place to practice our favorite sport.”
This event was attended by Councilor Francisco Molina; the Director of IMDECUF, Valerio III Camargo; baseball player, Cristhian Presichi, as well as residents, coaches, and players of the Cimarrones and Pioneras teams.
