Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, Mayor of the City of Tijuana, highlighted the altruistic commitment of the directors and medical staff at Hospital de las Californias, whose work assisting Tijuana’s children contributes to improving and saving lives through healthcare services.

During a courtesy visit to the hospital, the mayor of Tijuana thanked the directors for the invitation to tour the facilities, which for decades have been a benchmark in providing healthcare services to the region’s children and teenagers, with many success and recovery stories.

The mayor highlighted that this hospital is a clear example of what can be achieved when there is a willingness to work together with sensitivity and an altruistic spirit that transcends borders.

He also said that the 25th City Hall of Tijuana will work hand in hand with the hospital to establish collaboration mechanisms that will provide the necessary support to continue working to benefit the region’s children and teenagers.

During the meeting, the general director of Hospital Infantil de las Californias, Antonio Loaiza Martínez, presented updates on the Child Patient Aid Program (PAPI), aimed at helping low-income families cover consultations, rehabilitation therapies, or surgeries for the children treated at this institution.
This meeting was attended by Municipal Ombudswoman, Teresita Balderas Beltrán; Councilor Magaly Ronquillo Palacios; the founding president of Hospital Infantil de las Californias, Pedro Gabriel Chong King; the director of Fundación para los Niños de las Californias, Rosa Elena García Martínez; and José Luis Quezada, representing the hospital’s Board of Directors.
