Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana met with Toros de Tijuana Baseball Club executives, who presented their “Orgullo Tijuanense” (Tijuana Pride) campaign—an effort to strengthen the identity of those born in the city and those who have made it their home.
As such, the mayor offered the current administration’s support for the campaign, noting that fostering civic pride and a sense of identity among citizens could yield significant benefits across the city.

“This campaign is well-conceived because it doesn’t just reinforce identity through sports; it also encourages people to take pride in caring for our city and everything that defines us as Tijuana natives,” Mayor Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana said.
The mayor thanked Toros de Tijuana’s executives for inviting City Hall to join this initiative, which will elevate the city in every way. “This year will be historically transformative for Tijuana and its people, thanks to the major projects we’re implementing to make it happen.”

The baseball club’s executive president, Omar Canizales, emphasized that the campaign is not just about the Toros but the entire city: “This is a call for every Tijuana native to take pride in their home and see it as a city of opportunity.”
This meeting was attended by Municipal Government Secretary Arnulfo Guerrero León; Toros de Tijuana’s corporate president, Blanca Uribe Díaz; and the Toros de Tijuana’s Director of Institutional Relations, Antonio Cano.

Also present were the team’s Executive Director, Félix Fuentes; the Club’s Marketing Manager Elías Díaz; PR Coordinator Karla Márquez; and Toros de Tijuana Media Manager Juan Vega.
