Mayor Ismael Burgueño of Tijuana Leads Key Meeting with Hotel Industry to Boost Tourism

Mayor Ismael Burgueño of Tijuana met with business leaders from the hotel industry to boost tourism.

Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, Mayor of the City of Tijuana, met with businesspeople from the Northwest Hotel Association. At this meeting, issues of common interest and projects to boost tourism development and contribute to the city’s growth were discussed.

The meeting was organized by Tijuana’s Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDETI), led by Pedro Montejo Peterson, and the Hotel Association, led by Martha Domínguez Uscanga. Representatives from various hotels in the city attended, expressing their willingness to collaborate with Tijuana’s City Hall.

Tijuana’s City Hall Reiterates Support for Hotel Industry

The Mayor of Tijuana stated that his government aims to be a facilitator, with full willingness and commitment to support the hotel industry.

“We seek to create the conditions to strengthen Tijuana. We have important projects in the works, and you can be sure that this year you will see positive changes: a clean and orderly city. We are here to build and open to establish a work agenda that allows us to evaluate projects,” he said.

At this meeting, the following issues were discussed: tourist safety, expedited border crossing passes, cleaning of public areas, coordination between delegations and agencies, street lighting, pothole repairs, bridge cleaning, and enhancing the image of Downtown Tijuana.

Moreover, the President of the Northwest Hotel Association, Martha Domínguez, thanked the mayor for his attention and openness to listening to them and working together for Tijuana’s progress.

The Association comprises 32 hotels located in Zona Río, La Mesa, Downtown Tijuana, and Tercera Etapa. It welcomes one million visitors annually, and it is the only active hotel association in the industry.

Mayor of Tijuana was accompanied by the head of SEDETI and the SEDETI Director of Economic Promotion, Lucía Aguirre Inzunza.
