Just days before the start of the 2025 Mexican Baseball League (LMB) season, Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana presided over the flag ceremony for the Tijuana Toros, an event symbolizing identity, pride, and support for professional sports.
In front of players, coaching staff, and team executives, the mayor showcased the official jersey that the team will wear this season, highlighting the pride and passion that Toros inspire in the Tijuana community.

“Your commitment now is to wear this jersey as you travel to 19 of the country’s most important cities with respect, dedication, hunger for victory, and the drive that defines us. Because you’re not just representing a great baseball team, but a courageous, dynamic, and hardworking city,” he noted.
The mayor also emphasized the team’s deep roots in the community, noting that the Toros have become a symbol of family unity, effort, and regional pride.

Before the event, Mayor Burgueño of Tijuana—accompanied by the team’s Corporate President, Blanca Uribe Díaz, and Executive President, Omar Carrizales—led the ribbon-cutting for a new gym where players will train throughout the season.
Team manager Óscar Robles thanked the city’s institutional support: “For us, as a team and as representatives of Tijuana, it’s a great honor to receive this support. We take it proudly and commit to uphold the city’s name in every game.”

With this ceremony, Tijuana’s government reaffirms its commitment to supporting sports as a tool for strengthening social ties and community development.
