“Identidad 43” Mural Reflects Valle de Mexicali’s Cultural Heritage at Casa de la Cultura

This mural is the result of a collaborative effort between local artists and UABC students.

The Mexicali government, through the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture (IMACUM), inaugurated the mural “Identidad 43” in Casa de la Cultura at Km. 43 in Valle de Mexicali. This mural was created in collaboration with talented students from the UABC Faculty of Arts.

Anahí Martínez García, Director of IMACUM, stated that this vibrant and meaningful artwork reflects the essence, identity, and cultural development of Ciudad Guadalupe Victoria (“Km. 43”) and aims to strengthen the sense of belonging and pride within the community.

Martínez García emphasized that art has the power to unite and inspire future generations, and this mural seeks to create a space of connection and expression for young people in the community.

She also highlighted that the mural “Identidad 43” is the result of the joint work between local artists and UABC students, who poured their creativity and talent into a space that is now coming alive with colors and shapes that invite people to reflect and engage in dialogue.

Lastly, she thanked each artist who, with their dedication and passion, transformed this space and contributed to enriching the region’s cultural heritage. She also invited the entire community to visit Casa de la Cultura at Km. 43 and enjoy this artwork that celebrates local identity and talent.
