The state government has enhanced the process of registering and verifying private clinics and hospitals aiming to guarantee safe and quality services for users of medical, clinical, and aesthetic establishments in Baja California, revealed Governor Marina del Pilar.

Through the Baja California State Commission for the Protection Against Health Risks (COEPRIS), 175 businesses in the industry have already been registered in the Health and Well-Being Service Provider State Registry (REPSSABI), with another 100 in the process of compliance, the governor stated.

“This is a free program that supports establishments in meeting legal requirements, providing guidance to owners in obtaining health licenses, operation notices, and medical staff documentation, among other relevant aspects to ensure quality care,” Governor Marina del Pilar said.

Baja California’s Secretary of Health Adrián Medina Amarillas emphasized that this registry ensures that services are safe and of high quality for users. To obtain it, establishments must carry out a self-assessment to help them comply with Mexican Official Standards, which will be reviewed during a verification process.

He explained that the goal is to continue promoting more registrations across the state. Periodic meetings are also held with local medical associations to share information about the verification process, aiming to avoid complications and facilitate compliance with health regulations.
Lastly, Medina Amarillas highlighted that business chambers—which significantly contribute to the region’s medical tourism industry—have become strategic allies in ensuring that health and aesthetic services in Baja California are recognized as safe and certified for locals and tourists.
