Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda held a meeting with Mexico’s Secretary of Education, Mario Delgado Carrillo, where they discussed options to grant more scholarships and offer more support to young students in the state, reaffirming her commitment to strengthen education in Baja California.
“Very significant educational matters for the state that will benefit both students and teachers were addressed. We discussed scholarships for young people and increased support for education in the state,” said the governor.

At this meeting, progress on projects such as the establishment of Rosario Castellanos University in Tijuana and the results of the first Rita Cetina scholarships granted—to benefit thousands of students in the state—was discussed.
In this regard, she mentioned that the Rita Cetina scholarships, promoted by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, will begin on March 28 of this year, with the goal of benefiting more secondary school students.

It should be noted that through this program, students will receive bimonthly aid for 1,900 pesos, plus an additional 700 pesos for each extra student in the family.
Governor Marina del Pilar concluded by saying that with these efforts to improve education, the State Government continues to open more doors to knowledge, the development of new generations, and the construction of a better future for all.
