The State Secretariat of Health, under Governor Marina del Pilar’s instructions, has strengthened the distribution of essential medicines and medical supplies to stock Baja California’s general hospitals and ensure appropriate care for the population according to their needs.
Baja California’s Secretary of Health Adrián Medina Amarillas stated that since last Monday, the supply of managed medications has begun and the acquisition of additional supplies has been speeded up. These supplies arrived in the state on Saturday, February 15, and will be distributed to all hospitals in the coming hours.

“We managed to purchase nearly 300 key priority medications and supplies to provide people with the care they deserve—using 76 million pesos from state resources— integrated into an extraordinary fund endorsed by our Governor, who has provided full support given the administrative situation during this transition to IMSS Bienestar. We will never stop working to prioritize the health of the population, no matter what atypical circumstances may arise,” he said.
He stressed that all hospitals in the state remain open to the public, with outpatient and emergency services operating regularly and acknowledged the professionalism of the medical staff who continue to provide care to users despite unforeseen challenges arising from administrative adjustments.

Medina Amarillas reported that urgent supplies were delivered to hospitals starting Monday, and this Saturday the distribution of all medications received at the state warehouse located in the state capital began. This will ensure that general hospitals in Mexicali, Tijuana, and Ensenada have adequate supplies to provide care. The operational capacity of all of these units will gradually normalize.
Lastly, the Secretary of Health reaffirmed the commitment and ongoing collaboration with IMSS Bienestar authorities to guarantee medical care coverage for the population.
