Baja Californian Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, and governors from several states met at the National Palace with the aim of guaranteeing medical care across the country and strengthen the IMSS-Bienestar model.

“We continue working diligently, aware that this model guarantees free and quality health services for the population without social security, especially in rural and highly marginalized areas,” she stated.

The governor emphasized that the IMSS-Bienestar model aims to make health a universal right and not a privilege for the few. In this regard, the state administration, through the Secretariat of Health, has worked in coordination with federal authorities to facilitate the population’s access to these services.

An example of this is the Maternal and Children’s Hospital in Tijuana, where IMSS-Bienestar and the state health authority assist the most underserved communities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

It should be noted that the establishment of the IMSS-Bienestar program in Baja California has gone hand in hand with the recent simultaneous construction of three hospitals: the East Zone’s General Hospital in Tijuana, the IMSS Hospital in Ensenada, and the San Felipe Hospital, the first in this port’s history.

With this, the government of Baja California reaffirms its commitment to the policies promoted by the President of Mexico, which seek to generate greater well-being for all while also promoting health.
