Governor Marina del Pilar of Baja California Enhances Security Measures with Federal Collaboration

The state governor held a meeting with Mexico's Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch.

Baja Californian Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda held a meeting with the head of Mexico’s Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, where lines of action and strategies to combat crime—with a special focus on the city of Mexicali—were defined. These joint discussions aim to strengthen the state’s security strategy.

The state governor also participated in the security cabinet meeting convened by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. This support has been essential in the actions to build lasting peace in the region.

A strategic security and surveillance operation has been launched to directly address the root causes of criminal conflicts, which is part of the security actions being carried out in the state by the three levels of government to ensure Baja Californians’ security.

Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Public Security, Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, and State Attorney General María Elena Andrade Ramírez also participated in this meeting.

Governor Marina del Pilar reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of Mexicali families and claimed that, through interinstitutional coordination, crime will be prevented from affecting citizens’ peace.
