Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda recently led activities under the “Corazones con Bienestar” program in San Felipe, as part of ongoing efforts to combat extreme poverty in the area. During her visit, she also introduced the Violet Squad—a unit now operational in 90% of Baja California that provides support and protection for women, girls, boys, and teenagers facing violence.

“We have just established the Violet Squad in San Felipe, delivering more patrol vehicles, in addition to the recent construction of the C5 security center here. We continue strengthening security,” the governor said.

The squad will deal with gender-based violence, which deeply harms women and their families. Along with other support initiatives, Baja California now has a Violet System that offers comprehensive assistance and guidance to victims, she explained.

In San Felipe, the squad will begin operations with 12 new patrol vehicles and 6 trained officers specialized in handling gender-based and domestic violence cases.

Direct Support for San Felipe Families

During the “Corazones” campaign event, Governor Marina del Pilar also participated in Health Caravans, offering free medical care and vaccinations. Additionally, in the Los Arcos and Los Gavilanes neighborhoods, she handed over property titles to three families, providing them with greater legal certainty over their homes. More than 1,400 property titles have been issued in San Felipe, through the Institute for Real Estate and Housing Development (INDIVI), during her administration.
