Baja California is preparing to welcome travelers ready to enjoy the Easter break period from April 14 to April 25. Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda urged visitors and locals to work together with authorities and take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and hassle-free vacation.

The governor noted that the Holy Week holiday operation, which began last Thursday, April 3, will involve the deployment of 942 agents and 244 units across the state. Patrols will monitor major tourist destinations, while six offices, five mobile units, and one information center will provide assistance daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

She also highlighted the availability of the free 078 hotline for roadside and tourist assistance provided by Ángeles Verdes, as well as the number (664) 624-2020, where Baja California’s Secretariat of Tourism offers support, complaint follow-up, and guidance.
The governor emphasized the importance of checking vehicles before traveling to ensure brakes, lights, and tires are in good condition. During the trip, she stressed the need to wear seat belts, avoid driving under the influence of alcohol, and take breaks on long journeys.

Ávila Olmeda recommended staying hydrated and protecting oneself from the sun, especially when traveling to hot destinations. Using sunscreen, wearing appropriate clothing to prevent burns, and carrying insect repellent for outdoor activities were among her tips.
Regarding water activities, the governor reminded travelers not to swim alone, to supervise children, and to check conditions before entering bodies of water. She also encouraged people to keep their belongings secure, particularly in crowded areas.
Lastly, the governor recommended taking precautions when leaving home during the holidays by ensuring everything is properly locked and avoiding real-time sharing of location details on social media to prevent theft.
