Baja Californian Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda attended the graduation ceremony of 92 members of the State Investigation Agency (AEI) of the State Attorney General’s Office. She also participated in the retirement ceremony of 13 investigators and two public prosecutors.

Governor Marina del Pilar emphasized that having honest, committed, and professional individuals is essential to safeguarding peace in Baja California. She also stated that the new members joining the agency have received comprehensive training to face the challenges as police officers and investigators. This includes legal and judicial training, as well as tactical preparation to effectively carry out operations.

“I am sure that the most suitable and highly qualified profiles are here to take on this important task. These are the people we want on our side because it is thanks to people like you that Baja California is being transformed,” she said.

Retired Agents to Receive Special Bonus Payment

Governor Marina del Pilar also honored and thanked the 15 retired agents for their years of bravery, determination, and commitment. They will benefit from the first pensions based on age and years of service, part of a 270-million-peso trust fund to ensure an adequate career retirement. Authorities will pay a special bonus to the retired agents, and they will be able to pass on their pensions to their families.

“With this, we guarantee a proper, solid, and transferable pension, which is our way of expressing how important you are to our government and to all the citizens of Baja California and how much we value your work and sacrifice,” stated Governor Marina del Pilar.

She emphasized that since she took office, the historic challenge of guaranteeing such benefits to security force agents and members has been a priority, as their work had not been supported or dignified in previous governments.

“Those who retire today leave behind shoes that are very hard to fill. But we know that the new generations of public servants will give their hearts to rise to the occasion and meet Baja Californians’ expectations,” she added.

Baja California’s Attorney General’s Office: A Transforming Institution

The governor claimed that the Attorney General’s Office (FGE) is a noble institution undergoing a complete transformation. Unlike in the past, she said, citizens are now being served appropriately, and legal and institutional aid is being provided to its members.

State Attorney General María Elena Andrade Ramírez highlighted the importance of Governor Marina del Pilar’s initiative to achieve adequate retirement for agents with many years of service and presented her with an award for her efforts in this regard.

She noted that the FGE Academy was certified a year ago by the Federal Executive Secretariat to train agents committed to serving the public. It should be noted that 40% of the new generation of agents are women, which will promote better gender-based assistance.

Symbolically, during the event, the final roll call for the retired agents and public prosecutors took place. Furthermore, awards were presented to newly graduated officers.

This event was attended by Baja California’s National Guard Coordinator, Héctor Jiménez Báez; the Commander of the Second Military Zone, Javier Juvencio Hernández; General Staff Infantry Colonel, Leonardo Solís; the State Secretary of Citizen Security, Laureano Carrillo, among other authorities.
