Forever 21 is leaving and, this time, forever! The iconic clothing store, founded 40 years ago under the original name “Fashion 21” in Highland Park, Los Angeles, announced its official closure a few months ago, and this weekend, it has finally become a reality.
San Ysidro’s Las Americas Premium Outlets will be the first mall to bid farewell to Forever 21. On March 30, the store will shut its doors for good. If this is one of your favorite shopping spots, don’t forget to take advantage of the clearance sale while you still can!
Discounts currently range from 20% to 60% off on clothing, accessories, and other items. According to TikTok users, some products could even drop to 90% off as the final days approach. Shoppers have also mentioned that there’s still plenty of merchandise left, as it seems there haven’t been enough customers to completely empty the store.

Where and When Are the Next Forever 21 Closures?
Some other Forever 21 locations shutting down include:
- Parkway Plaza, El Cajón (week of March 30).
- Westfield Plaza Bonita, National City (week of March 30).
- The Promenade, Temecula (week of March 30).
- Gran Plaza Outlets, Calexico (week of March 30).
- Carlsbad stores (before May 1).
- Imperial Valley Mall, El Centro (before May 1).
One of the most popular stores closing is the Plaza Bonita location. This mall has been one of the most visited in San Diego, and like Las Americas Premium Outlets, it’s slowly seeing stores shut down.
According to online users, these closures are likely due to the rise of online shopping, which has steadily taken over a significant share of retail sales.
