CARSON, CA – The Mexican boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. returned to the ring after a one year absence and did so with a highly controversial win by unanimous decision over American Brian Vera. A lot of people at the StubHub Center were very upset at the decision, especially Vera.

Chavez (47-1-1) withstood the hard punches from Vera for the entire 10 rounds; at the end the judges scorecards read: 96-94, 98-92, and 97-92 all in favor of the legendary boxer’s son.

The Sinaloa native looked lost in the ring and lost control of the fight; especially in the eighth round. But the judges saw something different and despite the crowd’s boos they award the win to Chavez.
