The President of the National Conference of Governors (CONAGO), Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, lauded Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo on behalf of the state governors of Mexico after the successful negotiations that led to the suspension of tariffs imposed by the United States on Mexican products under the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Governor Marina del Pilar underscored that this decision represents a triumph of dialogue and cooperation, reaffirming that joint efforts between state governments and the federal government are essential to defending the country’s economic interests and the well-being of Mexican families.

“President Claudia Sheinbaum’s leadership has been decisive in protecting Mexico’s productive industries. From CONAGO, the governors stand united with her government to ensure fair trade and strengthen our bilateral relationship with the United States,” stated the Baja California governor.

She also reiterated that federal states remain in coordination with the business industry, workers, and producers from all the country’s regions and are committed to promoting actions that protect the nation’s economic and labor stability.

“Mexico has historically demonstrated its ability to overcome challenges with unity and determination. Today more than ever, we reaffirm our commitment to defending our economic interests and building a trade relationship based on mutual respect and shared benefits,” she concluded.
