Local Tijuana newspaper Frontera reported that an Uber unit was detained this Tuesday due to lacking proper documentation by offering public transit service, informed José Luis Hernández Silerio, head of the Road and Transportation department.

A white Nissan that was on its way to the airport was towed in the Libertad neighborhood as part of the "December Operative", for not having the documentation stated by the Public Transit Regulations of the city of Tijuana.

It's barely been 30 days since Tijuana's Secretary of Government, Bernardo Padilla, who cleared up the modifications to the Public Transit Regulations, those which allow sanctioning private vehicles that are hired or solicited via electronic devices, as well as assuring that after 60 days it will permitted to impound vehicles that aren't properly documented.
