Bullfighting in Baja California has received a major boost—the Circuit Court of Appeals has unanimously overturned the judicial suspension that banned bullfights in the state. This decision marks a significant victory for the region’s Fiesta Brava.
In a statement released by Manuel Bowser Miret, owner of Nuevo Toreo de Tijuana, he expressed his satisfaction with this legal win in favor of bullfighting in Baja California. The court’s ruling also reverses an earlier provisional suspension that had legally blocked bullfighting events and opens the door for the revival of activities at venues like Nuevo Toreo de Tijuana.
The statement also mentioned that further details—including upcoming plans for bullfighting in Baja California—will be announced soon.

Bullfights Had Been Suspended in Baja California for Years
Bullfighting events were halted in 2023 after an injunction was reportedly filed by animal rights groups, backed by the Federal Judiciary. Later, a bullfight scheduled for July at Nuevo Toreo de Tijuana was canceled due to additional court rulings.
Since then, bullfighting in Baja California had become nothing more than a memory.
