Baja California Ready to Shine as Host of Tianguis Turístico 2025

Governor Marina del Pilar has been working in coordination with federal authorities to make this event a success in the state.

Baja Californian Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, accompanied by Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, announced during her morning press conference that the state is ready to make history as the host of Tianguis Turístico 2025, highlighting the wealth and attractions that make it a unique destination for both national and international travelers.

Tianguis Turístico México 2025 will take place at the Baja California Center in Playas de Rosarito from April 28 to May 1, turning the state into the epicenter of tourism. The governor also announced that on April 26 and 27, San Diego will host culinary and cultural events at Liberty Station, while on May 1 and 2, Tijuana will host “El Gran Taco de México” at CECUT. To close out the event, Avenida Revolución will feature live performances with shows by Nortec and the Baja California Orchestra.

The state governor emphasized that this Tianguis will be unique, uniting Baja California and Mexico with the world. As of the latest update, 775 companies and 1,159 buyers from 35 countries have confirmed their participation, including tourism operators from the U.S., Canada, Japan, China, South Korea, and Singapore, as well as travel agents from Europe and South America. An estimated 10,000 attendees—buyers, exhibitors, and industry leaders—are expected.

Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez, stated that Tianguis Turístico 2025 will be different—a celebration where everyone can take part in the biggest tourism event in the Americas.

“This is a Tianguis for everyone. Society can now get involved because it goes beyond just being for tour operators. Everyone will be able to attend, as activities will extend beyond the convention center, and we’re sharing it with another country,” she said.

She explained that activities will not be limited to the convention center, as there will also be events in different parts of Baja California and San Diego, California.

Meanwhile, Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana noted that beyond being a pivotal moment for the state, Tianguis Turístico will be historic and showcase a positive image of Baja Californians, while predicting great success for the activities. Furthermore, Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz of Playas de Rosarito emphasized that the event will greatly benefit her municipality, known for its strong tourism industry.

Lastly, Emmanuel Romain Ernest, General Director of Promotion, International Affairs, and General Coordinator of Tianguis Turístico México 2025, also attended the morning conference and several meetings related to the event.
